Fund credit and savings

Beneficiaria del programa de créditoOur funding is always rooted in small-scale work. In addition, the program provides training to our clients to promote business development and inculcate the savings culture, thus contributing to the increased standard of living of the direct and indirect beneficiaries. While offering a low interest rate relative to market interest rate, we have good acceptance from people, especially the poor. This is also because now there are banks which are impeding access to credit with various eligibility requirements.

We are currently supporting 102 women and 41 men. Furthermore we give small credits to 100 farmers from around Chinandega, who work together with us.

Loans

We offer small loans with a minimum of 50 and maximum of 250 dollars, distributed in the following categories:

  • Support for small business (trade)
  • Basic housing repair (door, bathroom, roof, kitchen floor etc.)
  • Production of basic grains and vegetables, mainly the production of the flower of Jamaica
  • Health and education

The interest we have is low, it is 1.00% with respect to the financial market rate, which only allows us to get a small profit margin.

In 2011 we have 15 producers of basic grains like rice and beans, as well as; 25 people who use their credit for studies and further education, 46 in basic housing repairs and much more, basically to create small businesses.

The program has a gender focus, encouraging working women and single mothers who need someone to hand them a lift out of economic chaos in which many families live in our country. Naturally they can also involve male clients who meet the requirements of the program. Currently, we have male and female clients as farm workers, seniors, young business owners, taxi drivers, peddlers, laborers, ect.
