within the Institutional Strategic Plan.
So we work in accompaniment with youth groups, residents' associations, municipal mayor of Chinandega, NGOs and other local authorities regarding this important social area. |
History
As part of the work that the Chinantlan Association has been implementing in recent years within the public participation program is a comprehensive program of educational lectures in secondary education centers in the municipality of Chinandega. One goal of these talks is to encourage the educational community in the decision making process and explore options for change, a positive attitude for students in solving their own problems. Those steps are taken for effective integral human development. We want the kids develop critical thinking as opposed to the traditionalism that exists in the Nicaraguan family, which is based on adopting a passive role to the current problems facing the country. |
Political impact
As a result of experience in civil participation programs, Chinantlan Association has contributed to the search for a closer relationship with local government and civil society in this sense. One of the achievements today is developing multi-year plans for municipal investment in 2009 - 2012, so City Hall was also included in the design, implementation and evaluation of the Annual Investment Plan 2009.
It has been a process, involving the CDM municipal development committee, the citizen's advice to CPC (participation clauses supported by the government), government and nongovernmental institutions and the technical team from the City Hall of Chinandega.

Prospects
We intend to continue working with the municipal development committee, municipal mayor of Chinandega and clauses of citizen participation and political advocacy for the development of social policies that accompany all work as a single social welfare program. The next scheduled annual investment plan is for 2010 in coordination with the Council of citizen power and other institutions.
